About this position

A fully funded PhD position is available on the stability of renewable-dominated power systems, jointly offered by IIT Kharagpur (IITKGP) and The University of Manchester (UoM).

This PhD project, joint between The University of Manchester and IIT Kharagpur, aims to tackle the protection and control issues with large renewable integrations and proposes solutions by codesigning them while incorporating the stability challenges for the IBR-dominated power systems. The research focuses on two critical areas:
? Codesiging of the control and protection algorithms for renewable dominant power systems;
? Developing the tools for stability analysis in renewable dominant power systems.

The selected candidate will gain international research experience, spending:
Year 1 & 4 at IIT Kharagpur
Year 2 & 3 at The University of Manchester
The project is supervised by:
