Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in European Forestry (MSc) – Sustainable Forest Management and Climate Change University of Eastern Finland in Austria

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in European Forestry (MSc EF) is a prestigious, internationally recognized program focusing on sustainable forest management, climate change, ecosystem services, bioeconomy, and biodiversity. Offered by a consortium of seven leading European universities, including the University of Eastern Finland (coordinator), BOKU University (Austria), AgroParisTech (France), University of Freiburg (Germany), University of Lleida (Spain), Transilvania University of Brasov (Romania), and Wageningen University (Netherlands), the program provides students with the opportunity to study in at least two partner institutions and participate in a one-month field course across several European countries.

The MSc EF program is designed for students seeking an international career in forestry and related fields. It addresses major challenges such as climate change, sustainable resource management, and the provision of ecosystem services. The curriculum includes joint study modules, an internship, and networking opportunities with employers, ensuring high employability for graduates. Upon completion, students receive a joint or double MSc degree, depending on their study track.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's or equivalent degree in forest sciences or a related discipline. The program is open to students worldwide, with competitive selection based on academic merit and motivation. Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available for top applicants, providing a monthly stipend of 1400 EUR for up to 24 months and a full consortium fee waiver. Partial fee waivers are also available for eligible non-EU/EEA students. The annual consortium fee is 9,000 EUR for non-EU/EEA students, while EU/EEA students are exempt from fees. All students receive insurance coverage.
