The centre focuses on cutting-edge interdisciplinary research that balances fundamental and applied sciences, aiming to address critical challenges in food, water, energy, environment, and other socio-economic areas at regional, national, and global levels.

Major research domains include Environment (water management, waste management, CO2 capture and conversion), Energy (green hydrogen, UREA/ammonia), Sensors (chemical sensors and biosensors), and Advanced Computing & AI/ML (machine learning, deep learning, large language models, density functional theory, molecular dynamics, quantum algorithms). The centre promotes collaboration among diverse disciplines and aims to foster innovative research synergies aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. with strong interdisciplinary expertise, an excellent publication record in Q1 or Scopus-indexed journals, and a proven track record of acquiring funding at national and international levels. Additional requirements include a minimum of 5 Scopus-indexed publications per year (with at least 3 as first/corresponding author) in the last two years or technology transfer/patents, and at least two years of postdoctoral research experience in interdisciplinary areas or equivalent. Preference is given to candidates listed among the top 2% scientists by Stanford University (minimum 2 years record).

Faculty members benefit from a professional development fund of ₹4 lakhs per year, university-funded PhD students, research-first workload, performance-linked pay incentives, and up to ₹40 lakhs for interdisciplinary research projects. Each faculty member is also supported by two university-funded postdoctoral fellowships.

To apply, candidates should send their CV to [email protected] and [email protected]. More information is available on the SRM University AP research centre website. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, offering a unique opportunity to join a future-ready research institution driving global impact in interdisciplinary fields such as environmental science, chemistry, computer science, and chemical engineering.
