FIAS Fellowship Programme 2027/2028 in Social Sciences, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Research in France French Institutes for Advanced Study in France

The French Institutes for Advanced Study (FIAS) Fellowship Programme 2027/2028 is open for applications for a 10-month research fellowship in France.

This opportunity is aimed at high-level international scholars and scientists from all countries. It is open to researchers at all career levels, from postdoctoral researchers to senior scientists, provided they hold a PhD and have at least 2 years of research experience. Applicants must also not have spent more than 12 months in France during the three years before the deadline.

The fellowship welcomes research in Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) and in any other field that interfaces with SSH. The programme offers 29 positions across seven French cities: Aix-Marseille, Cergy, Loire Valley (Orléans-Tours), Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, and Paris.

Funding is described as fully supported for the 10-month fellowship period. Fellows benefit from a multidisciplinary cohort, strong links to local research centres and laboratories, and the freedom to pursue their own research priorities.
