Free Professional Learning Series in Purposeful Play in Science Education Mercer University in United States

Free registration is open for Expanding Capacity for Purposeful Play in Science Education, a self-paced online professional learning series developed through the Joyful Learning Collaborative and Mercer University.

The modules focus on joyful, inquiry-driven, culturally responsive science learning for elementary classrooms, with an emphasis on how teachers can co-design science instruction that supports curiosity, play, and equity. The opportunity is especially relevant for K–5 teachers, instructional coaches, teacher educators, and graduate students, but it is open to anyone interested in rethinking science learning and learner engagement.

Participants may complete one, two, or all three modules. The series is completely free and flexible, making it accessible to educators anywhere. After completing a module, participants may request documentation of professional learning hours. The registration form also notes that participation in the professional learning is separate from an optional research component that will be explained within the modules.
