The McLean Hospital OCD Institute, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, is seeking a full-time, in-person Research Assistant (RA) to join their team in Belmont, MA. The position is set to begin in late June or early July 2026 and is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The RA will be involved in managing and conducting research studies focused on the treatment and assessment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders. This includes working directly with adult patients in a partial hospital/residential treatment setting and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of investigators and clinical staff.

Research projects at the OCD Institute cover a range of topics, including behavioral and psychophysiological mechanisms of exposure therapy, cognitive biases, smartphone interventions, genetics of OCD, machine learning prediction, longitudinal treatment outcomes, implementation science, and measure development. The RA will be responsible for administering data collection, conducting clinical assessments, managing databases, writing scripts in R, presenting research findings, and handling IRB management. There are also opportunities for professional development, such as preparing conference submissions, writing scientific articles, shadowing or co-leading treatment groups, and receiving training in diagnostic interviewing and exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field and at least one year of human subjects research experience. Preferred candidates will have experience in clinical or healthcare settings, strong initiative, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and familiarity with statistical software (R, SPSS) and database management tools (REDCap, Qualtrics).
