The Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is offering a full-time teaching and research assistant position at the Centre for Public and Social Law, with a primary focus on doctoral research in private law. The successful candidate will pursue a PhD in legal sciences, specializing in areas such as contract law, property law, law of obligations (including Roman law), economic law, family law, private international law, intellectual property, tax law, judicial law, and the notarial profession. Priority will be given to research projects related to contract law, property law, and obligations.

As a teaching and research assistant, you will be actively involved in both research and teaching activities within the Centre. Responsibilities include conducting high-level research, supporting ongoing projects, and participating in the management of the Centre and Faculty. Teaching duties involve supervising practical work groups, totaling at least 120 hours per academic year, overseeing examinations, marking, and engaging in faculty life, such as attending student fairs and open days.

The appointment is for an initial period of two years, renewable for up to six years following evaluations. The position is designed to equally balance research, teaching, and administrative tasks, with regular reviews of responsibilities and teaching load. The aim is to construct and finalize a doctoral thesis during the term.

Applicants must hold a 120-credit Master's degree in law and meet doctoral entry requirements. Excellent proficiency in French is mandatory, with good knowledge of English and/or Dutch highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong academic performance, research aptitude, and teamwork skills.
