The University of Tartu is offering a fully funded PhD position as part of the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network project “ML CARE.” This opportunity is hosted within the Health Informatics group, a leading research team focused on health data analytics, personalized medicine, and the application of advanced AI methods to healthcare challenges. The PhD project centers on developing robust numerical and temporal embeddings from underused health measurement data—including continuous, sparse, irregular, and variable-quality datasets—and integrating these into clinical Foundation Models to enhance patient-level trajectory and outcome prediction.

ML CARE is an interdisciplinary initiative aiming to revolutionize precision medicine by leveraging cutting-edge AI solutions that combine genomic, clinical, and environmental data into holistic, multimodal patient representations.
