The program offers access to advanced field, glasshouse, and laboratory facilities, as well as opportunities for fieldwork in alpine regions and collaboration with the Australian Mountain Research Facility. Candidates may also engage in undergraduate teaching and career development programs.

Eligibility requires an Honours or Master’s degree (research-based) in botany, ecology, or a closely related discipline, with an outstanding academic record (minimum 85% or High Distinction). Applicants must demonstrate strong research motivation, excellent scientific writing skills, proficiency in ecological data analysis using R, and have fieldwork experience. A valid driver’s license, physical fitness, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in challenging alpine conditions across all seasons are essential. A proven publication record is highly desirable.

The fellowship provides a tax-free stipend of AU$34,400 per annum for three years, with a possible six-month extension.
