Fully funded PhD opportunity in Developmental Neuroscience and Neurobiology at the Grenoble Institute of Neurosciences (GIN – INSERM U1216), Université Grenoble Alpes, France.

The doctoral project, “Shaping the Developing Cortex through Translational Regulation (SHINING)”, investigates how translational control and mRNA regulation shape cortical development, with a focus on neuronal development, cortical excitatory neurons, and the mechanisms that may contribute to neurodevelopmental disorders.

Research topics include neurobiology, cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, advanced molecular imaging, animal models, and translational regulation. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary neuroscience environment with access to state-of-the-art imaging platforms, animal facilities, and molecular technologies.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Experience with mouse models, molecular biology, or imaging techniques is an advantage. Strong English communication skills, analytical ability, motivation, and organization are required.

Funding: this is a fully funded 3-year PhD position. The contract starts on 2026-10-01. The application deadline is 2026-07-07.
