About this position

Fully funded PhD opportunity in Molecular and Cellular Cancer Immunology at the University of Luxembourg. The project is based in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine and focuses on wet-lab and translational research in cancer immunology.

The doctoral researcher will work with mouse models and/or cancer patient samples, develop patient-derived 3D models and immune co-cultures, study cellular interactions via extracellular vesicles, and analyze high-throughput datasets using R or similar tools. The role also includes presenting findings, documenting experiments, contributing to reports, grant applications, publications, and participating in the doctoral training program.

Ideal applicants hold a master's degree in immunology, molecular/cell biology, biomedicine, or a related field. The post asks for a strong background in adaptive immunity, B cell development, antibody structure, and immune responses in cancer. Practical experience with cell culture, PCR, western blotting, functional assays, and flow cytometry is important; experience with multi-parameter panels, cell sorting, CRISPR, extracellular vesicles, R/Python, or omics pipelines is a plus.

Funding includes a full-time doctoral contract for 36 months with a yearly gross salary of EUR 43,445. The post also notes no application fee. Applicants must show at least B2-level proficiency in the language of the thesis.

Apply online through the university HR system with a CV, cover letter, and transcripts of all university-level modules/results. Applications are reviewed as they arrive, so early submission is encouraged. The closing date shown in the job post is 12 June 2026.
