The University of Montpellier in France is offering a fully funded PhD position focused on Performance Management Systems and Entrepreneurs’ Health. This interdisciplinary research opportunity investigates how performance management systems impact entrepreneurs’ stress, mental health, and overall well-being. The project will explore comprehensive performance measurement beyond financial metrics, examine the effects of control environments (tight vs. loose) on stress, and analyze mechanisms such as role clarity, feedback, and reduced ambiguity.

As a PhD student, you will gain hands-on experience with survey data and field networks through the Amarok Observatory, participate in structured doctoral training, and have access to MRM seminars and workshops. The position also offers opportunities for collaboration with international scholars, co-authorship, and presentations at international conferences.

Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in Management, Entrepreneurship, Accounting/Management Control, Organizational Behavior, or a related field. A strong interest in interdisciplinary research bridging performance management and entrepreneurial health, excellent academic writing skills, and proficiency in English are required.
