Description

The Shadel Lab in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at Oregon State University is offering a fully funded PhD position in soil microbiology, with a flexible start date in spring or summer 2026. The research will focus on plant-microbe interactions that control soil carbon dynamics, a key process for ecosystem functioning and climate change mitigation. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team and gain hands-on experience in isotope labeling, DNA stable isotope probing, bioinformatics, experimental design, microbial ecology, and soil carbon cycling. Funding
