Fully Funded PhD in Swarm-Based Autonomous Resource Management and Orbital Intelligence at University of Pisa University of Pisa in Italy

PhD opportunity at the University of Pisa, Department of Information Engineering (DII), in a project sponsored by the Italian Space Agency (ASI).

The position is part of SWARM-ORBIT – Swarm-based Autonomous Resource Management and Orbital Intelligence for Trajectory Planning. The research will focus on autonomous mission management and planning for multi-satellite missions, with strong links to aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, optimization, guidance and control, robotics, and multi-agent autonomy.

This is a fully funded PhD opening aimed at candidates with backgrounds in Aerospace Engineering, Automation & Control, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields. The project is especially relevant for students interested in future Earth-orbit and cislunar applications, autonomous satellite swarms, and cutting-edge space technologies.
