The University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management is offering a fully funded, four-year Ph.D. position in Digital Forest Management. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in leveraging digital technologies to advance ecological forest management across large landscapes in Atlantic Canada. The research will focus on the costs and benefits of implementing ecological forest management, with an emphasis on forest conservation, climate change adaptation, and resource economics. Candidates will use advanced digital tools for land inventory, predictive modeling, optimization, and trade-off analyses.

This position is a joint project between the University of New Brunswick and the Ecological Forestry Research Initiative (EFRI). The program begins in Fall 2026 and provides an annual stipend of $35,000, with the possibility of additional scholarships, bursaries, and teaching assistantships.
