About this position

The Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM), a joint initiative of the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) and the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) at Erasmus University Rotterdam, offers a range of fully funded, four-year PhD positions in business and management. These positions are salaried, with successful candidates becoming employees of Erasmus University Rotterdam and benefiting from attractive employment conditions, including a holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, and generous vacation days. The program is internationally oriented and provides state-of-the-art research facilities, as well as financial support for research-related activities such as conference participation, international job markets, external courses, and visits to international supervisors. PhD research projects are available in five main areas: Business Processes, Logistics and Information Systems; Organisation and Personnel Management; Marketing; Finance & Accounting; and Strategy & Entrepreneurship.

Specific topics include supply chain management, innovation management, sustainability, consumer behavior, quantitative marketing, fair machine learning in marketing, finance, management accounting and control, and strategic management and entrepreneurship. Applicants must hold a relevant MSc, MA, or MPhil degree and demonstrate excellent academic performance. While GMAT or GRE scores at or above the 85th percentile are preferred, applications without these scores are considered if other evidence of excellence is provided. Proficiency in English is required, demonstrated by recent TOEFL or IELTS scores meeting the program's minimum standards.

Selection is based on academic credentials, references, and interviews with potential supervisors. The application process is fully online, with a deadline of January 15, 2026, for the September 2026 intake. Prospective students are encouraged to attend one of the online information sessions for further details.

For more information, applicants can visit the RSM PhD vacancies page or contact the ERIM Full-time PhD Doctoral Office at [email protected].
