Fully Funded PhD Positions in Conservation Biology, Genetics, and Movement Ecology of Diadromous Fish Bournemouth University in United Kingdom

Bournemouth University is advertising three fully funded PhD positions in the Rob Britton lab focused on the conservation biology, genetics, molecular ecology, and movement ecology of threatened diadromous fish in reconnected rivers.

The projects are based on the Rivers Severn and Teme and build on the legacy of the Unlocking the Severn project. The three research themes are:

• In-river migrations and juvenile ecology of European shads after river reconnection
• Genetic and molecular tools for assessing outcomes of river reconnection programmes
• Movement ecology and biology of sea lamprey and European eel

This is a strong opportunity for students interested in biology, environmental science, aquatic ecology, fish conservation, population genetics, and field-based research in river systems. The post indicates the positions are fully funded.
