Singapore Management University (SMU) is offering fully funded PhD and Research Assistant positions in the School of Computing and Information Systems, focusing on Machine Learning for Health and Human-Centered AI. The research areas include multimodal representation learning, vision–language models, medical video understanding, and the development of trustworthy multimodal AI for healthcare. Human-centered AI topics such as AI collaboration, fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics are also emphasized, aiming to enhance AI usability and reliability.

PhD students will benefit from a scholarship that covers tuition fees and provides a monthly stipend. Visiting students are eligible for a monthly stipend for a minimum of six months, while Research Assistants receive a competitive salary based on experience.
