PhD Studentship in Molecular Immunology at the Institute of Medical Virology, University of Zurich.

The Laboratory of Interferon Research, led by Prof. Dr. Benjamin G. Hale, is recruiting a new PhD student to work on molecular immunology, with a focus on interferons, autoantibodies, and viral disease. The project is centered on understanding the molecular biology of the human interferon system in health and disease, including interferon system deficiencies associated with increased susceptibility to severe viral infections such as COVID-19 and influenza.

This is a fully funded PhD position. The start date is negotiable, with an anticipated beginning in late 2026 or early 2027. Applicants should have an excellent background in molecular biology, biomedicine, or immunology, and should be highly motivated for multidisciplinary research in a strong virology/immunology environment.
