This research investigates the enhanced moisture management and stability provided by wicking geotextiles, which incorporate absorbent yarns into high-strength polyester fabrics. By improving in-plane drainage, wicking geotextiles reduce rainwater infiltration, capillary rise, and moisture-related deformation in reinforced soil structures. Key benefits include the use of in-situ soils, lower carbon emissions, and better bonding with backfill, making them ideal for climate-resilient, sustainable construction.
