About this position

The Hybrid Integration for Genuine Hyper-functionality Laboratory (HIGH Lab) at Kyung Hee University, led by Professor Sung Hun Jin, is recruiting graduate (M.S., Ph.D., and integrated M.S./Ph.D.) and postdoctoral researchers for Fall 2026. The lab is part of the Department of Information Display in Seoul, South Korea, and focuses on pioneering research in next-generation memory devices, hardware security, and display technologies.

Research at HIGH Lab centers on the development of memory-embedded and self-vanishing hardware systems, integrating memory, security, and irreversible physical vanishing for security-critical and intelligent electronic platforms. Key topics include emerging memory devices (such as RRAM, selector-based, oxide, and perovskite memories), in-memory and in-sensor computing architectures, hardware security, anti-forensic systems, and device-to-system co-design. The lab also explores multi-physical triggers (thermal, mechanical, radiation) and the fabrication of thin-film devices using advanced techniques like ALD, sputtering, and lithography.

Applicants with backgrounds in electrical engineering, materials science, applied physics, or related fields are encouraged to apply. The lab values technical skills in device fabrication, memory devices, neuromorphic and security-oriented hardware, and system-level thinking. For graduate programs, IELTS or TOEFL scores are mandatory, and apostilled academic records are required. Postdoctoral candidates should have a strong publication record.

Funding includes full scholarships and competitive stipends for graduate students, with opportunities through the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) track and general graduate admission. Postdoctoral positions are fully funded for qualified candidates. The lab offers a structured research environment, international collaborations, and a focus on high-impact publications.

To apply, candidates should send a CV, research interests, academic background, research experience, technical skills, preferred program, admission track, and expected start date to Professor Jin at [email protected]. More information is available on the lab homepage. The application deadline for the GKS track is March 3, 2026, and for general admission is the end of March 2026.

HIGH Lab is committed to advancing sustainable electronic systems by integrating hybrid technologies and genuine hyper-functionality, making it an excellent environment for motivated researchers interested in cutting-edge hardware and materials research.
