About this position
We are looking for highly motivated researchers to kick off their PhD journey on an exciting project on the development of hydrogen storage materials at The University of Sydney. The aim of this project is to develop a novel class of materials that would effectively store hydrogen under ambient conditions. Hydrogen is a clean energy vector, advancing novel solutions for its storage will unlock major applications. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a highly topical area and within a world-class research team. The study is to be conducted at the School of Chemistry at the University of Sydney.Applicants should have gained a first class BSc Honours degree (or equivalent)in chemistry, materials science, polymer chemistry and/or preparation of inorganic nanoparticles, or a related field. Internatioanl. First class Honours is equivalent to a final grade > 80%. Applicants should have gained research experience through their degrees. Consideration will also be given to applicants who do not have an Honours degree, but have a Master degree by research or course work with a final grade > 80% and demonstrated research experience, e.g in the form of publications.The scholarship is available to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents. International students with a Master degree from a reputable university (ranked in the top 400 in the world) are also encouraged to apply.
Funding details
Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
