About this position
Call for Applications: IEG Fellowships for Doctoral Students and Postdocs at the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz, Germany.
The fellowship programme supports doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers from Germany and abroad for 6 to 12 months. Research projects may span the early modern period to contemporary history, with a strong emphasis on the religious, political, social, and cultural history of Europe.
Especially welcome are projects in comparative history, transnational history, transfer history, intellectual history, religious history, environmental history, and research using digital methods.
Fellows benefit from dedicated research time, residency and accommodation in the institute building in Mainz, access to the IEG’s specialised library and Mainz research infrastructure, and an international, interdisciplinary scholarly environment.
The programme is announced regularly: doctoral fellowships twice a year, postdoctoral fellowships once a year, and digital humanities fellowships once a year.
