Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (Pilani Campus) is inviting motivated candidates to join the Plant Developmental and Environmental Signal Integration (Plant DESI) Lab for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under the PM-ECRG program.
The project focuses on plant biology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and omics, with a specific research theme on how light signaling regulates seed oil biosynthesis in Brassicaceae. The work aims to uncover molecular mechanisms in model and crop species and may contribute to crop improvement.
Eligibility includes an M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related disciplines. Prior research experience with Brassica crops and analytical techniques such as GC-MS will be an advantage. The post is suitable for candidates interested in plant science research and may transition into a PhD program depending on performance and mutual interest.
Funding details: ₹37,000 per month for candidates with a valid GATE score or NET-Lectureship (CSIR-UGC), and ₹30,000 per month for candidates without NET/GATE.
