About this position

National Institute of Technology Rourkela is inviting applications for a JRF-PhD position in Computer Vision and Deep Learning with the PRISM research group in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The project focuses on deep learning frameworks for aerial scene analysis and object detection in aerial images under complex environmental conditions. The research environment is centered on PRISM (Perception and Recognition via Imaging and Sensing using Modern-AI), which works on machine vision, restoration, perception, recognition, unmanned autonomous systems, robotics, and intelligent monitoring/surveillance.

This is a 3-year project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The fellowship is INR 37,000 per month for the first two years and INR 42,000 per month in the third year. The selected JRF candidate will also be eligible for PhD enrollment at NIT Rourkela as per institute norms.

Eligible applicants should have a strong background in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, or related areas. The official advertisement indicates eligibility for relevant postgraduate or undergraduate engineering/science degrees with GATE/NET qualification and minimum academic performance thresholds. Good Python programming skills and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow are desirable.
