About this position

The Predictive Oncology team at CRCM, U1068 Inserm, Institut Paoli Calmettes in Marseille, France, is seeking a motivated junior postdoctoral fellow for a two-year, full-time position. Led by Professor François Bertucci and Dr Emilie Mamessier, the group focuses on innovative cancer research, specifically the characterization of the tumor microenvironment in colon cancer. The project is cross-disciplinary and offers the opportunity to work with both mouse and human models, investigating microenvironmental changes during colon carcinogenesis and mechanisms of treatment resistance.

Key research activities include in vitro analyses of murine and human biological samples, cell isolation and co-culture, molecular characterization at the single-cell level, multiplexed immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, image analysis, and bioinformatics. The project leverages advanced technologies such as single cell and spatial transcriptomics and patient-derived organoids, with the aim of publishing high-impact studies and translating findings to clinical applications.

The successful candidate will interact with a supportive team of bioinformaticians and contribute to scientific communication through reports, publications, and presentations. The environment is dynamic and collaborative, with access to exciting preliminary data and ample biological material to drive rapid progress.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent, advanced skills in data analysis and bioinformatics, and hands-on experience with cell culture, molecular biology, spatial transcriptomics, single-cell sequencing, and multiplex immunofluorescence. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential, as is proficiency in English (B2 to C1). No postdoctoral experience after the PhD is permitted for eligibility.
