Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi is hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for an ANRF-funded research project on advancing innovative zero-energy water building technologies. The work sits at the intersection of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, and building energy systems, with a strong emphasis on building energy and energy system modeling, simulation, experimental setup, prototype making, and performance monitoring of a test bed.

The selected candidate will contribute to prototype development for advanced net-zero energy water building technologies, conduct modeling and full-scale experiments, analyze research results, and help write research articles for publication. The role also involves collaboration with industry partners and multidisciplinary teams.

Eligibility: Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (M.Tech, M.Arch, MS Research) or equivalent in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in the qualifying degree. Preferred experience includes building energy and energy system modeling/simulation, experimental work, prototype development, strong analytical and communication skills, teamwork, and proficiency with relevant software/tools and methodologies.

Funding: The fellowship offers Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA for three years and/or co-terminus with the project.
