About this position

*"Fully Funded Graduate Positions in Metal Additive Manufacturing (3D and 4D Printing) – Starting January and/or May 2026"*
Applicants are invited for fully funded “Master’s and PhD positions” in the field of Metal Additive Manufacturing at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). Successful candidates will conduct research at the Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (MAMCE), in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, focusing on Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) of strategic alloys with significant industrial and scientific impact.
You will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary research team and collaborate closely with "national and international" industrial/scientific partners. Research activities may include:
·      Advanced materials characterization and alloy design
·      Novel post processing of printed materials
·      Assessment of material performance under extreme condition
·      Design, optimization, and innovation in LPBF process

- Eligibility & Requirements:
·      Strong academic background in “Materials and Manufacturing” Engineering (or related fields)
·      Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
·      Experience in additive manufacturing (theory and/or practice) is an asset
·      Demonstrated research excellence through publications, awards, or relevant work experience

- Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be assessed on GPA, quality of publications, technical skills, research alignment, TOEFL/IELTS scores (if applicable), honors and awards, and relevant experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a virtual interview.

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
