We have a new fully-funded PhD position available in Scale-resolving Simulation of Wind-assisted Ships and Low-fidelity Model Optimization.
This project aims at conducting large-scale simulations of ships with wind-assisted propulsion at very-high Reynolds numbers. The project will involve CFD code development in the context of high-performance computing, analysis of flow topology, and optimization of low-fidelity models using LES data.

The successful candidate will work with me and Gunnar Jacobi at TU Delft | Mechanical Engineering , with the additional co-supervision of Oriol Lehmkuhl at Barcelona Supercomputing Center which can result in short research attachments.
