Pelwatte Dairy Industries Limited, a leading dairy manufacturer in Sri Lanka, is seeking a Microbiology Lead (Assistant Manager) to oversee microbiological operations at their factory in Buttala. The company is committed to producing high-quality dairy products using 100% locally sourced milk and has been supporting local farmers since 2006.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO, and food safety standards. Key duties include leading contamination investigations, driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), monitoring hygiene and sanitation across manufacturing and laboratory operations, guiding and training laboratory staff, supporting product release decisions with accurate reporting, and driving continuous improvement in microbiological control systems.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field, and possess 5–7 years of experience in dairy or food manufacturing microbiology. Strong hands-on experience in microbiological testing and contamination control, as well as sound knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards, are essential. Leadership and problem-solving skills are also required.
