About this position

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship hosting opportunity at CNRS / University of Strasbourg in the Chemistry of Photoresponsive Systems group.

The project focuses on the development of targetable red/NIR ratiometric fluorescent probes for singlet oxygen imaging in biological systems, with strong links to chemical biology, live-cell bioimaging, photochemistry, ROS probes, and photodynamic therapy-related imaging.

This is a call for an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to co-develop a competitive application for the 2026 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship. The post builds on a previous proposal that scored 91.6% and received a Seal of Excellence, but the new application is expected to be strengthened with improved scientific novelty, benchmarking, and a tailored training and career development plan.

Preferred expertise includes fluorescent probe design, organic synthesis of fluorophores, photochemistry, singlet oxygen / ROS probes, NIR dyes, ratiometric imaging, chemical biology, and bioimaging. Experience in multistep organic synthesis is especially valued, and additional skills in photophysics, spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, or biological validation would be a strong asset.

Eligibility follows the MSCA-PF rules: the candidate must have a PhD obtained or defended before the deadline, have no more than 8 years of research experience after the PhD unless exceptions apply, and comply with the mobility rule for France (not more than 12 months in France during the 36 months before the deadline). Researchers of any nationality are welcome if they meet the criteria.

Interested candidates should email a motivation letter, CV, publication list, a short statement on how their expertise fits the project, and a brief mobility history since September 2023 to [email protected].

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.

How to apply

Please submit your application including a cover letter, CV, academic transcripts, and contact information for two references. Applications should be sent via the online portal before the deadline.
