About this position

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII), Madrid, Spain.

The host team is led by Monica Torres-Ruiz and Antonio De la vieja, and the project focuses on environmental toxicology, cancer biology, and translational biomedical research. The proposed research will examine how emerging contaminants such as nanoplastics, PFAS, bisphenols, and relevant mixtures may affect cancer-related processes including endocrine/neuroendocrine disruption, tumour progression, oxidative stress, inflammation, genotoxicity, and response to anticancer treatments.

The work will use zebrafish embryo/larval models and human in vitro models, aligned with the 3Rs principles, and will integrate mechanistic endpoints relevant to environmental toxicology and biomedical research.

Applicants should meet MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship eligibility criteria: PhD completion by the call deadline, compliance with the mobility rule, and a maximum of 8 years of research experience after the PhD. The host team is looking for candidates with a strong CV for their career stage, peer-reviewed publications preferably including first-author papers, excellent scientific writing skills, independence, motivation, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.

Relevant backgrounds include environmental toxicology, cancer biology, endocrine disruption, zebrafish models, human cell culture, molecular biology, genotoxicity, imaging, inflammation, oxidative stress, omics, and emerging contaminants.

Interested candidates are invited to contact the team with a CV, a short motivation statement, and a brief description of their research interests.

Madrid offers a dynamic, international, and well-connected biomedical research environment with a high quality of life.
