About this position
Netherlands Quarterly of Human Rights Publishing Workshop (2026)
This online workshop is organised by the Netherlands Quarterly of Human Rights (NQHR) and focuses on developing practical skills for academic publication. It is designed for early career researchers, PhD candidates, and scholars who want guidance on how to publish academic articles in leading journals.
Theme and academic focus: preparing an article for submission, choosing the right journal, understanding what editors look for, surviving the peer review process, revising and resubmitting, and improving the chances that an article is read and has impact after publication. The workshop is especially relevant to research in human rights law, international law, public international law, and related interdisciplinary areas such as political science, sociology, anthropology, and history.
Speakers / editorial board: Katharine Fortin (Editor in Chief and Associate Professor, Netherlands Institute of Human Rights), Lorena Sosa (Associate Professor, Netherlands Institute of Human Rights), and Tina Stavrinaki (Assistant Professor, Netherlands Institute of Human Rights). The workshop is linked to the NQHR Executive Editorial Board and the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights.
Format and date: online workshop on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, from 14:15–15:15 CET.
Funding: participation is free of charge.
How to apply / register: send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “NQHR Workshop - Publishing Academic Articles” and state your intention to attend. Registration deadline is 28 May 2026. Registered participants will receive the event link by email before the workshop.
