This project focuses on developing next-generation materials for extreme environments, with applications in hypersonic systems and national defense. Our multidisciplinary approach integrates advanced processing, high-temperature testing, and computational modeling to push the boundaries of what materials can achieve under extreme thermal and mechanical stress.
We gratefully acknowledge Capt. Derek Barbee , AFOSR Program Officer of Dynamic Materials and Interactions, for supporting this effort.
We are now recruiting 2 PhD students ( Only US citizens) to join this exciting project. If you're motivated by impactful research in materials science, aerospace applications, and computational methods, this is a unique opportunity to join a high-impact effort with real-world relevance. Students will have access to world-class facilities and a collaborative, well-supported environment for advanced research and professional growth.
