At Aston Pharmacy School , we’re recruiting a UK Home student for a fully funded PhD that’s about more than academic papers, it’s about making real, lasting change for some of the most vulnerable patients in healthcare: ???????????????? ?????????????????? ???????????????????? ????????.
????????’?? ?????? ???????????? ??????????????
Many medicines given to children in palliative care are prescribed based on guesswork. Doses are often scaled down from adult guidelines, not tailored to children’s unique bodies and needs. The result? Too often it’s either ineffective treatment or dangerous side effects.
????’???? ???????????????? ?????? ????????????????. ?????? ???? ???????? ??????.
This PhD is part of a national effort to improve how medicines are dosed for children with life-limiting conditions. You’ll work with experts in pharmacokinetics, clinical pharmacy, and paediatrics to develop new precision dosing models.
This isn’t just theory.
You’ll collaborate with healthcare teams through the NIHR-funded CoPPAR Network, using real-world data from hospices and hospitals. Your work will help shape national guidelines, directly improving how medicines are prescribed in paediatric palliative care.

You’ll be based at the Aston Centre of Excellence in Pharmacotherapy Optimisation and Pharmacoepidemiology Research (ACEPOP) and collaborate with Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and national clinical partners.
Make research count. Do work that matters. Change lives.
