Charles University in Prague is advertising two research opportunities in remote sensing, vegetation monitoring, machine learning, and deep learning within the TILSPEC research team.

Postdoctoral fellowship: The Charleston Postdoctoral Fellowship call (MSCA Cofund) is a prestigious EU-funded postdoc program under Horizon Europe / MSCA. The advertised research directions include thermal remote sensing of vegetation from UAV imaging to evapotranspiration, hyperspectral imaging of vegetation for advanced plant health assessment, and species-level vegetation change detection using UAV multispectral and hyperspectral data with deep learning. The fellowship offers about €4,500–4,800 per month plus a research and training budget, lasts 24 months at Charles University, and includes a mandatory secondment in a non-academic sector. The call is highly competitive and seeks a very strong candidate with an excellent publication record.

PhD position: The PhD topic is Developing Remote Sensing–Based Indicators of Landscape State and Change Using Data-Efficient Machine Learning Across Scales. This is a research opportunity in applied geoinformatics/cartography and landscape monitoring, with a strong computational and earth-observation component.
