About this position

AI LEARN: AI Centre for the Empowerment of Human Learning at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway, is inviting applications for multiple PhD and Postdoctoral positions. The centre is dedicated to advancing research in human–AI interaction, multi-agent communication, and game-based learning, with a focus on how artificial intelligence can empower human learning, creativity, and collaboration.

These positions offer the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, learning sciences, and human–AI collaboration. Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary and international research environment, working on projects that explore how AI can enhance creativity, learning, and human development through hybrid intelligence.

Location: NTNU, Trondheim, Norway.

Funding: All positions are fully funded, with competitive salaries and benefits in accordance with Norwegian university standards. Funding covers living expenses and research support.

Eligibility: Applicants should hold a relevant master's or doctoral degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, learning sciences, or a related field. Strong research skills, proficiency in English, and a demonstrated interest in human–AI interaction, multi-agent systems, or game-based learning are required. Additional requirements may include programming experience, interdisciplinary collaboration skills, and a commitment to ethical AI research.
