About this position

The University of Luxembourg is seeking a PhD candidate for research in Quantum Software Engineering within the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). The successful applicant will join the Serval research group and work closely with Associate Professor Mike Papadakis and Dr. Maxime Cordy.

The project focuses on developing and evaluating software engineering methods and security techniques for quantum computing platforms, including adapting traditional software engineering principles to quantum environments and defining software quality standards for quantum systems. The role involves conducting literature surveys, developing experimental and simulation facilities, planning and analyzing experiments, and contributing to project deliverables and scientific publications. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, or a related field, and a Master’s degree in Software Security, Informatics, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Strong programming and analytical skills are essential, and industry experience in ICT is advantageous. Optional skills include machine learning, metaheuristics, statistics, and text analysis. English fluency is required.

The position offers a fixed-term contract of 36 months, full-time employment, and a yearly gross salary of EUR 40952.
