PhD opportunity in fusion materials and computational materials science at the Czech Technical University in Prague, within the Advanced Materials Group / Department of Control Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

The project is titled High-Velocity Dust Impacts on Tungsten Plasma-Facing Materials: A Predictive Multi-Scale Modeling Framework with Experimental Validation and is offered as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) co-funded PhD fellowship under the PICTUS PhD Fellowship Programme.

Research topics include molecular dynamics simulations, machine learning-based predictive modeling, multi-scale modeling, and experimental validation of dust impacts on tungsten and tungsten alloys. The scientific goal is to understand and mitigate erosion and damage in tungsten plasma-facing materials for future fusion reactors.

Funding includes a full 48-month employment contract, a gross salary of about €2,750/month, an additional family allowance, and conference travel plus research support.
