Deakin University, in partnership with Coventry University (UK), is seeking a PhD candidate for a cotutelle project focused on climate adaptation and AI-enabled decision support. The research aims to develop an agentic AI system that generates structured, scenario-based climate adaptation narratives for decision-makers, especially in agricultural and peri-urban settings. The project is designed to translate climate risk information into actionable outputs for real-world application.

The successful candidate will be jointly supervised by Professor Robert Faggian (Deakin), Dr Bahareh Nakisa, Associate Professor Jonathan Eden, and Professor Matthew England, bringing together expertise in AI, climate adaptation, and governance. Applicants should have a strong technical background in AI, data science, computer science, or related disciplines, and a keen interest in applied climate or environmental challenges.
