The Division of Geodesy and Geoinformatics is inviting applications for a 100% full-time doctoral position focused on advancing AI-driven Earth Observation methods for environmental intelligence. The project centers on analyzing multi-modal, multi-temporal, and multi-resolution satellite imagery together with geospatial data.

Eligibility highlights: a Master’s degree in Geomatics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related natural sciences/engineering field; strong background in image analysis, computer vision, pattern recognition, ML/DL, and data science; programming skills in Python, C++, and Matlab; fluent spoken English and excellent scientific reading/writing skills meeting English B/6; prior experience with generative AI or geospatial foundation models is an advantage.
Funding and contract: the position is a paid doctoral appointment under KTH’s doctoral student salary agreement, with employee benefits. The contract is for up to 4 years full-time equivalent, with an initial two-year employment period targeting a Licentiate degree and sequential renewals thereafter. Up to 20% may include training or departmental administration.
