About this position

PhD/Doctoral Researcher opportunity in AI, multimodal imaging, glioblastoma research, and medical imaging at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, within the EU-funded MSCA Doctoral Network INTRABRAIN.

The position is hosted by the Tor Vergata Medical Physics group led by Prof. Nicola Toschi, with Dr. Allegra Conti as co-supervisor. The project focuses on developing AI-driven multimodal imaging frameworks for integrated analysis of tumor biology and therapeutic response in glioblastoma.

Research topics include advanced MRI, PET imaging, optical fluorescence imaging, spatial biology, and multiplex immunofluorescence. The computational side may involve physics-informed neural networks, multitask learning, and transformer-based architectures for multimodal data integration.

Eligible backgrounds include medical physics, biomedical engineering, computer science, data science, applied mathematics, physics, bioengineering, computational biology, neuroscience, or related quantitative fields. Strong programming skills and experience in machine learning, image processing, biomedical imaging, medical image analysis, or quantitative modeling are especially relevant.

The post mentions international secondments at the University of Naples Federico II, Technion, and University of Helsinki. Application deadline: 4 June 2026.

To apply, complete the INTRABRAIN DC application form from the job post and email it to [email protected]. More information is available via the linked INTRABRAIN positions page.
