PhD opportunity at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), within the ASARI African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute and the College of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences (CAES), focused on animal nutrition, feed science, and climate-resilient livestock systems.

The project topic is Alternative Protein Sources for Climate-Resilient Livestock Systems in Morocco. It addresses major challenges facing livestock production in Morocco, including recurrent droughts, climate change, rangeland degradation, and rising feed costs. The research will investigate unconventional feedstuffs as sustainable alternative protein and feed resources to improve feed security, reduce dependence on imported ingredients, and strengthen resilience in arid and semi-arid livestock systems.

Research areas include animal nutrition and feed science, alternative protein sources, circular bioeconomy and resource efficiency, sustainable livestock production, climate resilience and adaptation, and environmental and economic assessment. The expected impact is to generate scientific evidence and practical recommendations for feed self-sufficiency and sustainable livestock transformation under climate stress.

Eligible candidates should have a background in Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Animal Nutrition, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
