About this position

Professor Hang Ta at Griffith University is seeking outstanding PhD candidates for newly funded projects supported by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

The positions are based at Griffith University’s Nathan campus in Brisbane, Australia, and sit within the Hang Ta Laboratory / BioMiNa Lab. The group’s research spans biomedical engineering, materials science, medical science, molecular imaging, drug delivery systems, organ-on-a-chip technologies, microfluidics, and theranostics.

Project 1 focuses on Responsive Imaging and Drug Delivery Systems. Desired experience includes nanomaterial synthesis and characterisation, cell-based assays, fluorescence imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and animal handling.

Project 2 focuses on Organ-on-a-Chip Technologies. Desired experience includes mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, microfluidics, biochemistry, and molecular biology.

Applicants should have an excellent academic record with a high GPA. A strong publication track record, especially first-author publications, is preferred. Eligible applicants must hold either an Honours degree or a Master’s degree. The post also requests an IELTS certificate, indicating English-language evidence is expected.

Funding is described as newly funded through ARC and NHMRC grants, but no stipend amount or full funding package is specified in the post.

To apply, candidates should email a CV with publication list, academic transcript(s), and IELTS certificate to [email protected]. More information about the research group and projects is available on the group website.
