Located in Bodø, Norway, the Business School is seeking two candidates to join the division of Economic Analysis and Accounting, as part of a cohort of nine new PhD researchers. The PhD program offers a three- or four-year research education, including intensive coursework, research leading to a doctoral dissertation, and relevant work experience. Candidates will be affiliated with one of the Business School’s research groups and will have opportunities to publish scientific articles, participate in international conferences, and undertake research stays at foreign universities. The academic environment is highly supportive, with access to supervision, mentoring, and professional development seminars.

Research topics for the PhD include: the impact of artificial intelligence on small and medium-sized accounting and auditing practices (TRANSACT AI project), transport preparedness and resilience in Northern Norway, the future of transport and logistics systems between Finland, Sweden, and Norway, financial risk in a world of geopolitical uncertainty, and the effects of AI, productivity, and financing on business transformation. Projects may address issues such as service quality, governance, market structure, supply chain vulnerability, policy analysis, risk management, and technological change.
