Tilburg University is advertising a fully funded PhD position in circular procurement at the CentER Graduate School of Business / Tilburg School of Economics and Management in the Netherlands. The project examines how procurement can accelerate the circular economy transition through circular purchasing strategies, decision-making in procurement, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and organizational change toward sustainability.

The research is mainly qualitative and is especially relevant for candidates interested in operations / supply chain management, business administration, and sustainability-oriented procurement. The PhD is a 4-year full-time position with a salary from €3,059 to €3,881 per month, plus holiday pay, year-end bonus, pension, commuting support, internet allowance, training, travel budget, and hybrid working. The program includes about 36 ECTS of PhD coursework and around 20% teaching/supervision duties.

Eligibility highlights include an academic master’s or Research Master’s in a relevant field, strong analytical ability, interest in circular economy and procurement, willingness to work qualitatively, proactive independence, and excellent English; Dutch is a strong advantage. Applicants with a non-European master’s may need a recent GRE or GMAT score.
