This call invites applications for a fully funded PhD Candidate position in the Work & Organizational Psychology group at the Faculty of Psychology & Neuroscience, Maastricht University, Netherlands. The project focuses on how working conditions shape employee resilience over time, with an emphasis on stress, wellbeing, recovery from stress, and healthier workplaces.
Research focus: workplace conditions, psychological resilience, stress, wellbeing, physiological responses (including heart rate), and employee adaptation over time. The project uses longitudinal studies, laboratory experiments, and field research, combining psychological data with physiological measures.
What the PhD candidate will do: design and test hypotheses, collect and analyse data, publish scientific articles, present at international conferences, and teach/supervise students for 10% of the role.
Eligibility highlights: a master’s degree in Work & Organizational Psychology or a related field; strong quantitative analysis skills; experience with R, SPSS, Mplus, or similar statistical tools; interest in stress, health, and resilience; strong communication skills; teamwork; fluent English. Dutch is a plus.
Funding and conditions: fully funded PhD, 4-year contract (1 year + 3-year extension), salary from €3,059 to €3,881 per month, full-time 38 hours/week, plus vacation days, holidays, flexible working, home office options, sports and wellbeing facilities, and a teaching qualification opportunity (UTQ/BKO).
