This doctoral project focuses on how leaders manage information flow and shape trust, performance, and uncertainty through communication practices such as calibrated transparency. The research explores questions around what leaders say, what they do not say, and how timing and transparency influence trust, psychological safety, uncertainty, and performance.

The role is a PhD Candidate position with a 4-year contract (18 months plus extension), full-time at 38 hours per week. The post offers a fully funded salary progression from €3,059 to €3,881 per month, along with leave, holiday bonuses, flexible work options, and access to courses and development programmes.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Business, Management, HRM, or Organizational Psychology. The post also looks for strong interest in leadership and organisational behaviour, analytical thinking, research methods skills, fluent English, and motivation for an academic career.

The successful candidate will conduct theory-driven empirical research using quantitative methods, publish in top journals, present at international conferences, and assist with teaching and supervision. The working environment includes the Leadership & Management section, a behavioural research lab, and corporate partnerships.
