PhD opportunity in Natural Products and Click Chemistry at Institut CARMeN, UMR CNRS 6064, INSA-Rouen, Université de Rouen in France.

The project is titled “Click reactions for detection of alkyne-containing natural products” and focuses on the design of probes for sensitive, rapid, and selective detection of secondary metabolites in complex crude extracts. Research activities include development of fluorogenic click-probes and MS-tagged probes, screening of fungal extracts for new natural products, and use of MS, HPLC, and fluorescence detection techniques.

The work is supervised by Dr. Xavier Franck and is carried out in collaboration with the Museum National d’Histoire naturelle in Paris. The post is strongly rooted in organic chemistry, natural product chemistry, analytical chemistry, and bioanalytical detection, with emphasis on alkyne capture, click reactions, fluorescence, and mass spectrometry.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold an M2 degree in Organic Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, or a related field, with an average score of at least 13/20. A strong interest in natural products and multidisciplinary research is required; experience with HPLC, fluorescence, or mass spectrometry is considered an advantage.
