Funding
This is a fully funded PhD for UK, EU, and international students. The funding covers tuition fees for three years and provides a stipend in line with the UKRI rate (£20,780 for 2025/26). An additional £1,500 per annum is provided for project costs/consumables. Costs for student visa and immigration health surcharge are not covered.

Requirements
Applicants must have a good undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) or a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science, Neuroscience, Developmental Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline from an internationally recognized university. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component below 6.0 is required. Essential qualities include a strong interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, cell biology, or genetics, good organizational skills, ability to work independently and in a team, and willingness to work with zebrafish. Desirable experience includes molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, CRISPR), microscopy, image analysis, statistical analysis, data handling, and strong communication skills.
